This sewing course combines three of our most popular sewing classes.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to refine your skills, this series is designed to take you from complete beginner to confident sewist – step by step.
We know starting something new can feel daunting, but with our structured approach, you’ll build skills progressively, supported by the same friendly guidance and welcoming vibe we’re known for.
We’ve created one of the most flexible ways to book sewing classes in Sydney, letting you choose the date of each class.
Here’s a breakdown of the three sessions:
Sewing for Beginners (3 hours)
- Start your journey with one of our most popular beginner sewing classes in Sydney. Learn the fundamentals of using a sewing machine – threading, tension, and sewing straight lines. By the end, you’ll complete a 45 x 45cm cushion cover: your very first finished project to take home.
Introduction to Garment Making (5 hours)
- In this 5 hour sewing class, you’ll create a pair of elasticated shorts or pants while learning to follow a commercial sewing pattern. This session introduces garment construction techniques and helps you gain confidence working with different shapes, seams, and fabrics.
Intro to Sewing Tops/Dresses (7 hours)
- Take things further with our most comprehensive sewing class. Sew a peplum top, midi dress, or maxi dress (your choice) while learning darts, gathers, and how to construct a double bodice with finished neck and arm holes. It’s a big leap in confidence and capability.

ⓧ Fabric for the two garment-making classes are not included and will need to be purchased separately. We’ve designed it this way so you can learn how to shop for the right fabric, and you get to choose something you’ll love to wear. We’ll send you a detailed shopping list with all the info you need.
- This sewing course is open to everyone aged 18+, and you don’t need any prior sewing experience.
- A lot of people come solo, so if you’re thinking about booking on your own – chances are you won’t be the only one. Our teachers are warm, friendly, and always make sure solo guests feel welcome and supported.
- Everyone is welcome in our inclusive space. - Choose your dates from our availability calendar for each class in this sewing course.
- Cushion insert not included in the Sewing For Beginners class but available to purchase on the day for $10
- Fabric for the two garment-making classes are not included. It’s been designed this way so you can choose something you love to wear. We’ll send you a detailed shopping list with all the info you need.
- Please arrive 10 minutes early to settle in
- Closed-toe shoes are recommended for your safety
- All of our sewing classes in Sydney run from our beautiful space in Redfern

Due to high demand for this sewing course, all bookings are final and non-refundable. We’re happy to reschedule your booking as long as it meets the conditions below:
- Rescheduling with more than 7 days’ notice: free of charge
- Rescheduling with less than 7 days’ notice: $50 per person rescheduling fee
- Rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice: no reschedule or refund available
